1970-71
- played in the house band at the Cellar in Vancouver opening for Ornette
Coleman and Herbie Hancock.
1973-74
- the great guitarist and spiritual teacher Tisziji Munoz lived in Vancouver
for a couple of years and I had the ecstatic experience of playing in
his band.
1973-81
- formed various “free music” bands with the great irrepressible
drummer Alan Wiertz.
1979-82
- worked as house accompanist for CTV’s Alan Hammel and Alan Thicke
shows.
1982-86
- moved to Toronto and formed a production company with the great guitarist
Pat Coleman and composed and produced music tracks for commercials and
films. While living there I played in some wonderful Toronto bands including:
the Eugene Amaro Quartet, the Keith Blackley Band, the John McLeod Quartet,
the Tate Brothers Band, the Dave Young Quartet, and the Jackie Richardson
Band.
1988-96
- I had a steady house gig at Carnegie’s Restaurant in Vancouver
where I played duo with many of this city’s great resident and
visiting jazz artists.
1998
- I acquired my studio on Wall St. in Vancouver and at the beginning
of 1999 started teaching on a regular basis (which I enjoy thoroughly).
